Where does the money go?

Your gift of money, materials, or land goes a long way toward keeping Habitat homes affordable and getting them built faster. Here are some examples of what Habitat might buy with your donation:

    • $10 a floor joist.

    • $25 a roof truss.

    • $50 an interior door.

    • $100 a window.

    • $1,000 a foundation.

    • $15,000 a building lot.

Every little bit counts.  Below are some ways you might be able to help the Nelson County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.

• To pay by Credit Card, simply click here to be transferred to a secure site hosted by Habitat For Humanity International.  Specify that your funds should be directed to the Nelson County affiliate, and NCHFH will receive 100% of your donation!

• Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes^TM
  Your car donation can help a family build a house, and the hope of a better life! Car donations help Habitat for Humanity build houses in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter. Donate a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle to Habitat's Cars for Homes^TM vehicle donation program by calling 1-877-277-4344 or visiting  www.carsforhomes.org .

Purchase a Share Certificate

   SHARE Certificates (Share Habitat's Re-Housing Efforts) to purchase one square foot in our next house, are available. These are great gifts for holidays, birthdays, religious celebrations, and other events.  Each certificate is $50.00.  The certificates are individualized.  For more information,  send an Email to:

Carpenter's Club

     The Carpenter's Club is a group of people who salute the completion of each new house with a donation of to NCHFH.  The club membership is growing and includes individuals, businesses, and civic and religious organizations.  The goal is to have one thousand members, enough to fund the next house.  If you wish to become a member of the NCHCH Carpenter's Club, send an Email to:
