How You Can Get Involved

    We always are in need of volunteers, whether skilled or unskilled, to help us with various tasks and projects. Whether it be hammering nails, painting a room, assisting at our office in Afton, helping with fund raising, mailings, or other special projects, we need your help!

    If you have construction experience and would like to get involved with building a home, here are some opportunities:

• House Captain

• Masons, electricians, plumbers

• Mid-week volunteers

• Excavators

• Anyone handy with tools

• Painters, carpenters, landscapers

• Laborers to help clear lots

• Help with wells and septic systems

• Hanging sheetrock

    In the spring we will move our Twelfth House from Nelson County High School to Roseland Road in Arrington.  In preparation, well and septic may need to be installed, depending on whether or not the existing system meets County Code.  A block foundation must be built.  Once the house is moved (it will be in two parts) it will need to be joined, wiring completed, and other such additional done to complete the home.  If you can help, let us know.

    NCHFH is looking not only for construction workers, but also individuals willing to devote their time and energy toward various tasks and projects.  Here are a few of our current needs:
